It's a RAINY day here, so I want to use that as my opener and try to find some link between my day-to-day experiences and something that is consumed by millions of people. Really looking for a horoscope angle on this. Wait, I have a theory that every answer is going to have O in it this week. So I don't guess RAINY and pivot to MOIST instead. Both my O-themed theory and my horoscope-based hope that my personal experiences tie into this game are dashed as the O turns up gray and the I is yellow.
I want to see if the I is at the front of the word. My first instinct was to go with IRATE, but I know that's wrong because of the T from my first guess. IMAGE pops to mind, but again, it would be wrong. INFER, however, is a word that will work. The I and R are yellow. I really like finding the first letter because I think it helps narrow my guesses down, so I throw the R upfront. RAJIN? Like a RAJIN cajun, no, that's not a word, but it does lead me to RABID for my third guess. Which gets me another yellow letter for A.
Man, I should've gone with RAINY for my first guess and saved myself a lot of time. Maybe Wordle is like the horoscope. I play around with the letters that I know. I see TRIAL, but that can't work. Same for FRAIL. Pillar has six letters, but apparently PILAR is is a word, which confirms the I in the second letter. That was both good and bad since it got me something in green, but the R was wasted. Oops. I play with letters and just type in GIRKA as filler, which leads me to CIRCA, which is today's answer.
Good puzzle. On the one hand, my fourth guess was a waste, but it did lead me to the answer, however, I was already leaning towards I in the second position. I think I would've gotten there eventually. I wonder how my gameplay would've been different if I had gone with RAINY, maybe I could've had a solve in two or three? Who knows? My streak is up to 16 as we head into the weekend. See you (someone? anyone? Bueller?) on Sunday for a weekend catch up.
