Wordle 675: Let's make some lemonade

The initial problem that I have with moving away from my A/E opening guess is that I'm having trouble coming up with alternatives. It's not that I don't know other words, it's just that it's different form the routine. I just have to rewire my thinking, I guess. TROUT and TROOP come to mind, but I don't want a repeating letter in my first guess. I ponder it for a moment, and then LEMON pops to mind. Let's do it. Okay,  the E and O are yellow, so I've got something to work with.

EPOXY is my next guess. It is kind of a stupid guess, but I want to find where these letters go. When that fails to give me much to work with, I decide to try some common letters to figure this out. OTHER feels like a good guess. Okay, The O is yellow and ER are at the end. I actually know where all three of my letters go based on my other O guesses. So I've got -O-ER. Looking at my letters, the two options that pop out at me are GOFER and COVER. I don't know that GOFER is a word. Like it's used in common parlance, but doesn't it have a hyphen? Or maybe it's been shortened to one word. I don't know. COVER it is. COVER is not the answer.

I'm not guessing GOFER. Suddenly that W looks pretty interesting. I wonder if ROWER or SOWER could be the answer. ROWER doesn't feel right. I'm getting close to running out of guesses, so I'm definitely second guessing myself here. I rip off the bandage and go with SOWER, which is incorrect.

Shoot down to my last guess. ROGER feels like a possibility as in roger that. JOKER is a possibility. Darn, I just feel like anything I throw in here is going to be a guess. I didn't do a good enough job eliminating letters with my earlier guesses. Screw it, let's go with JOKER and see what happens. Phew, indeed. I get this on my last guess.

I wonder if today's puzzle ended people's streaks. It's not particularly hard, but if you get to the solve the same way I did, there are multiple words that could fit in for your final guess. I don't really rate these things, but today's was definitely a simple, yet challenging puzzle.
